Ask a Librarian
The Reference Librarians can provide a variety of services to assist you. We can
- provide answers to brief questions for which definitive answers can be located in reference materials such as directories, dictionaries and basic texts in the areas of healthcare. Examples of this type of question are "How many beds does hospital A have?" or "What are the CDC recommendations for Hepatitis B vaccinations for health care workers?"
- identify specific book and article references which you have been unable to verify on your own. For example, if you have a journal name and an author but don't know the year or volume we can help locate that information
- assist you in developing search strategies as you conduct your own searches on the databases available to you
Our services are not limited to those mentioned here; feel free to submit other types of questions. A separate form, the DATABASE SEARCH REQUEST FORM, is available if you would like for the Reference Staff to retrieve a list of articles on a topic.
Please note: Web-based Reference help is available only to MUSC faculty,
students and staff. All others please call 843/792-2372.
Alternatively you can try our Live Chat Help.
